Scott and Kate Ronyak pursued the foreign mission field for three years before they joined To Every Tribe Ministries. In December of 2008, Scott left his job in engineering to move his family to Los Fresnos, TX to attend the Center for Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP). On the annual trip to Papua New Guinea (PNG) in March 2009, Scott realized that the team he was serving with was more important to him than location. Not feeling a specific call to a particular people group, Scott and Kate decided to join two other families (Sissons, CPCP ‘08 and Faulkners, CPCP ‘07) to begin work in PNG in 2010. They are excited as God builds their team as they train and prepare together for foreign ministry. Scott and Kate have two children - Grace (two) and Micah (four months). Their goal is to attend a language school in PNG for fourteen weeks in August ‘10, depending on support. Both Scott and Kate will be able to take the classes at school since they provide daycare for the children.
Even Grace will be taught to speak Tok Pisin (the local trade dialect). Five weeks of training will be spent living in bush huts. They anticipate that this time will be the most challenging for the family. Once the Ronyaks complete language school, they will be moving near the town of Goroka in the Eastern Highlands of PNG. They will be living among the Bena Bena people while continuing to learn about culture and ministry. Their first term of two to three years will be foundational as God begins to define their ministry.
