Dr. Erwin Lutzer
Since 1980, Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer has served as senior pastor of the world-famous Moody Church in Chicago, where he provides leadership to Chicago pastors. A renowned theologian, Dr. Lutzer earned his B.Th. from Winnipeg Bible College, a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary, an MA in Philosophy from Loyola University, an honorary LL.D. from Simon Greenleaf School of Law, and an honorary DD from Western Conservative Baptist Seminary.
Dr. Lutzer is the featured speaker on three radio programs including “The Moody Church Hour”, the popular evening program “Songs in the Night,” as well as the daily broadcast called “Running to Win”. These programs are heard on more than 700 radio stations in the United States and some foreign countries.
Dr. Lutzer is an award-winning author of numerous books including: Oprah-Miracles and the New Earth, Is God On America’s Side, Slandering Jesus, The Vanishing Power of Death, Cries from the Cross, Christ Among Other gods, One Minute after You Die and Hitler’s Cross, which received the Christian Bookseller’s Gold Medallion Award.
His speaking engagements outside the pulpit of the Moody Church include Bible conferences and seminars, both domestically and in other parts of the world. He has led tours of the cities of the Protestant Reformation in Europe. Dr. Lutzer and his wife, Rebecca, live in the Chicago area and are the parents of three grown children and seven grandchildren. David Sitton
David Sitton left for Papua New Guinea just one week after his 20th birthday – October, 1977. That is more than 30 years of involvement in pioneer church planting in Papua New Guinea and Mexico. The Lord has used him in making the first gospel contact with several cannibalistic and headhunting tribes in the interior of New Guinea. Altogether, 34 churches have been established with more than 2,400 disciples through this ministry. David is the founder and president of To Every Tribe Ministries (TETM) and The Center For Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP).
David is the author of the book To Every Tribe with Jesus and is currently working on his second book. David continues today in cross-cultural church planting in New Guinea and Mexico and in the training of a new generation of missionary church planters as he teaches at the CPCP. He and his wife, Tommi, have three grown children and two grandchildren. (back to top)
Dr. Al Mohler
Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., serves as president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a theologian, an ordained minister, and has served as pastor of several Southern Baptist churches. Dr. Mohler has been recognized by Time and Christianity Today as a leader among American evangelicals. Dr. Mohler received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University. He holds a Master of Divinity degree and the Doctor of Philosophy from Southern Seminary.
Dr. Mohler is the author of several books, including Culture Shift: Engaging Current Issues with Timeless Truth (Multnomah), Desire & Deceit: The Real Cost of the New Sexual Tolerance (Multnomah), Atheism Remix: A Christian Confronts the New Atheists (Crossway), and, most recently, The Disappearance of God: Dangerous Beliefs in the New Spiritual Openness (Multnomah). Dr. Hershael York
Before joining the faculty of Southern Seminary as the Victor and Louise Lester Professor of Christian Preaching; and Associate Dean of Ministry and Proclamation, Dr. York led the thriving congregation of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church in Lexington, KY, during a time in which the church experienced tremendous growth. Since coming to Southern, Dr. York has authored two books on speaking and preaching, has been featured in Preaching Today as one of the best preachers in North America, has spoken at the International Congress on Preaching, and has served as the President of the Kentucky Baptist Convention. He is currently the pastor of the Buck Run Baptist Church in Frankfort and frequently ministers in Brazil and Romania. He has also served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Marion, Arkansas, and served as Chancellor of the Lexington Baptist College. (back to top)
Dr. David Sills
David Sills joined Southern Seminary after serving as a missionary in Ecuador. While with the International Mission Board, he served as a church planter and general evangelist among the Highland Quichua people in the Andes and as a seminary professor at the Ecuadorian Baptist Theological Seminary. He also served as Rector and professor of the Baptist seminary as a missionary with Global Outreach International. In addition to leadership training and seminary ministry that has taken him throughout Latin America and as far away as Nepal, David has started and pastored churches in both the United States and Ecuador. He has written several books, the most recent being The Missionary Call.
David and Mary have been married for over thirty years and have two grown children. Their daughter Molly, son Christopher and his wife Carol are all Missions students at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. (back to top)
Fred Zaspel
Fred Zaspel was the pastor of Word of Life Baptist Church in Pottsville, PA for many years and adjunct professor of New Testament at Penn State University (Schuylkill Campus). He is currently a pastor at the Reformed Baptist Church of Franconia, PA, and instructor in Bible and theology at To Every Tribe Ministries in Los Fresnos, TX. He has studied at Bob Jones University, Denver Baptist Theological Seminary, Valley Baptist Theological Seminary, Biblical Theological Seminary, and the Pennsylvania State University. He holds a B.A. in Bible, with a minor in Greek; an M.A. in Pastoral Studies, an M.A. in New Testament, and a Th.M. in New Testament. His studies have concentrated in the various fields of Biblical-related study such as Greek, Hebrew, Theology, Church History, Ancient History and Archaeology. Among his awards is Biblical Seminary's coveted certificate for excellence in Greek exegesis.
Fred is currently pursuing his Ph.D. from The Free University of Amsterdam. His dissertation will focus on the theology of Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield. Fred is the author of a series of booklets published by the Interdisciplinary Biblical Research Institute (IBRI). Along with Tom Wells, Fred has co-authored a major work entitled New Covenant Theology. He is the author of many other booklets and articles. Fred and his wife, Kimberly have been married for thirty years and have two grown children: Gina and Jim. (back to top)
Rod Conner
Rod Conner grew up as the son of an evangelist. He attended Grand Rapids Baptist College and Seminary (Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, MI), where he earned his Bachelors of Religious Education degree. Rod served as youth pastor at Randolph St. Baptist Church in Charleston, WV from 1976-78. In 1978, the Conner’s went to Reformed Baptist Church in Lewisburg, PA where Rod served as senior pastor until 2002.
Rod took his first mission trip to the West Indies in 1995 and took several trips back in the years to follow. Rod met David and Tommi Sitton in the early 1980s through his church in Lewisburg. When the Board of To Every Tribe announced a need in 2004 for additional staff, Rod and Linda joined the ministry
In 2006, Rod was appointed Vice President of To Every Tribe.
Rod teaches at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting (CPCP) and helps to lead mission trips into Mexico and Papua New Guinea (PNG). He also represents the ministry by traveling extensively throughout Canada and the US. Rod and his wife Linda have been married for 36 years and have four children and six grandchildren. Ron Sanford
Ron Sanford spent thirty-one years as a pastor of three congregations in New York, New Jersey, and Illinois. Although Ron was committed to enlarging the vision of people within his congregations to go to the nations, he sensed that God was calling him to become more directly involved in mission. When a call went out for ten percent of the 1400 pastors assembled at the Bethlehem Conference for Pastors in 2006 to leave their pulpits, Ron and his wife, Margie, knew that they were part of the tithe. The Sanfords joined the staff of To Every Tribe in August 2008. Ron’s focus is on administration, pastoral care and teaching at the Center for Pioneer Church Planting. Ron was recently named Executive Director of To Every Tribe.
Ron is a graduate of Hope College in Holland, MI and received his M. Div from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Brunswick, NJ. Ron and Margie, have two married sons, a 19 year-old daughter, and two grandchildren. They are excited to be a part of God’s work to make His name great among the nations. (back to top)
