The on-premises student housing includes eight two-bedroom, one-bath apartments (750 square feet each). Four apartments are upstairs and four are downstairs. Each unit has its own central heating and air-conditioning, though it isn’t often you will need the heat!
Each apartment is fully furnished with a couch and loveseat, or a couch and chairs, end tables, lamps, desk (for each student), bookcase, dressers in each bedroom, mini-blinds and curtains on each window, dining table and chairs, beds, linens (2 sets of sheets per bed), a blanket or comforter per bed and bath towels (at least two per person). The kitchen is also stocked with the basics in pots, pans, serving and eating utensils, glasses, bake ware and dishes. There is also a small microwave, toaster, coffee pot, electric stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, mop, broom, bucket, dustpan, dish towels and dish rack.
Other items, (i.e. high-chairs), can be provided upon request and availability.
Included with the cost of rent are wireless Internet, garbage pickup, and water/sewer. The electricity bill is the responsibility of each tenant. Utilities are already turned on. Monthly electric bills range from $50-150 per month, depending on time of year and usage. The hottest months are May-September with temperatures ranging from the low 80’s to 100’s with mid-to-high humidity.
Praise God! We now have an on-premises laundry room with 3 washers and 3 dryers, as well as a clothesline for those that prefer to line dry their clothes. The washers are $1.25 per load and the dryers are 75 cents per load (45 minutes).
Attached to the laundry room is a covered patio with 4 picnic tables for anyone’s use. A barbeque pit is available. Because the facility is located on a quiet street, children have a safe area to play away from high traffic areas.
Mail can be delivered to the apartment complex. Each tenant is responsible for paying the $15 dollar charge for a key from the local post office. The address for the apartments is 602 W. 6th St., Apt #__, Los Fresnos, Texas 78566.
On-campus housing may be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis with a housing deposit of $150 for singles or $300 for couples. Unless granted an exception by the CPCP staff, all students are required to reside in the on-campus apartments. Should on-campus housing be full, the CPCP staff will endeavor to assist students in finding off-campus housing. The Housing Deposit will be refunded to the student when the apartment is vacated in good condition.
